PAN-PKB Supports Prabowo2 Period, Gerindra: The Struggle is Still Long

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Sekjen) of the DPP Gerindra Party Sugiono said that there was a common aspiration from several political parties who supported President Prabowo Subianto to run for a second term in the 2029 presidential election.

The general chairmen of several political parties, for example from PAN and PKB, have publicly announced their support for President Prabowo to run in 2029. PAN and PKB are currently in the coalition of parties supporting the government of President Prabowo-Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"We thank you, thank you for your support. Then, what I caught, yes, what I caught is that all of this started from the same ideals, the same desire, the same breath. Then, in the one-year period of the President's administration, he (the President, ed) led, and in his leadership, in carrying out his programs, friends also feel that we are still consistent in that line, still strong in that line," said Sugiono as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 7.

Sugiono also believes that it is the common aspiration that drives these parties to support President Prabowo for two terms.

"I think yes, (the support comes, ed) if the aspirations are the same, the breath is the same, the desire is the same," he said.

Sugiono also responded to the vice presidential candidate who will accompany President Prabowo if he later runs for president in 2029.

"2029 is still 3 years away. A lot can happen (in, red) 3 years. So, there is no talk about it, we are still focused on, that's what I said, this struggle is still long. We are still, the programs launched by the President must also continue to control their success," said the Secretary General of the DPP Gerindra Party.

Sugiono continued that the achievements that were successfully achieved in the one-year period of President Prabowo's administration must always be maintained, starting from achievements in the free nutritious meal program (MBG), then the government's efforts in eradicating the chain of poverty.

"This is a trajectory that we must continue to maintain, and we must improve. Discussions about things outside of this, I think, have not yet been held, because we are still thinking about how all of this has succeeded," said Sugiono.
