Transjakarta Bus Engine Stops Suddenly At Railroad Crossing, Passengers Running, Driver Sanctioned

JAKARTA - The Transjakarta bus suddenly shuts down in the middle of a railroad crossing. The bus engine suddenly crashed in the middle of the Halimun-Latuharhary KRL crossing.

Until the railroad crossing closed again and the siren signaling the train was about to pass, the bus still couldn't run.

Finally, the front and center bus doors opened and the passengers scattered and ran away from the train tracks. When the train approached, luckily the train was able to stop before hitting the Transjakarta bus.

Not long after, the Transjakarta bus operator Mayasari Bakti was able to walk again and the passengers boarded the same bus again to continue their journey.

The incident on Monday, May 31 this afternoon was confirmed by the President Director of PT Transjakarta, Sardjono Jhony Tjitrokusumo. Jhony claimed that the engine failure incident was not due to damage to the bus.

Because, he said, after the bus managed to get off the rails, customers got back into the bus and could continue their journey.

"It is confirmed that this incident was not caused by damage to the bus. An investigation is being carried out to find the cause," said Jhony in his statement, Tuesday, June 1.

Regarding this incident, Transjakarta through its operational team and technical team will conduct further investigations. The cause of the incident is currently being investigated by the relevant parties.

"The driver who was on duty at that time was also given sanctions," said Jhony.
