School Child in NTT who Ended His Life Allegedly Collected Donations of Rp1 Million / Student

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) said that the school for children who ended their lives in Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) allegedly collected a donation of Rp. 1 million per child.

"There is indeed a donation worth Rp. 1 million and it is a donation agreed upon by the school and the committee. This money is committee money," said KPAI member Diyah Puspitarini as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 6.

In addition to collecting donations, it is suspected that the school also announced the children who had not paid the requested donations.

The KPAI also asked the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) to check the truth of this allegation.

"Although the information from the school there is no talk (contribution) in front of the child, we ask the Ministry of Education to check the truth. We also ask for confirmation from parents because the parents say there is an announcement of who the child who has not paid," said Diyah Puspitarini.
