Ester hopes Indonesia will make it difficult for South Korea in the 2026 BATC semi-finals

JAKARTA - Single women's badminton player, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, hopes Indonesia can make it difficult for South Korea (South Korea) when they meet in the semifinals of the Asian Badminton Team Championship or Badminton Asia Team Championship (BATC) 2026.

The clash between Indonesia and South Korea will take place at the Qingdao Conson Gymnasium, China, on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The match will start at 10.00 local time or 09.00 WIB.

"Tomorrow we meet South Korea, we know it's not an easy opponent. They have many top players, so I hope the team can put out the best and maximum game and fight hard," said Ester in a statement.

Ester was the deciding factor in Indonesia's victory in the match against Thailand in the quarterfinal on Friday, February 6, 2026, which ended with a tight score of 3-2.

The other two points for Indonesia were contributed by the women's doubles Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

This is Ester's second victory in a comeback match to the tournament after a long absence since May last year. One other victory he had previously when Indonesia versus Hong Kong in the first match of the group stage.

"It's a positive thing to be able to come down here, from two comeback matches, I'm trying to bring back the atmosphere of the match. Hopefully with the results of these two matches, I can come back again better and better," said Ester.

South Korea, led by world number one An Se-young, continued their journey to the semifinals after defeating Malaysia with a landslide score of 3-0.

On paper, South Korea is much more favored against Indonesia tomorrow. In addition to An Se-young, they also put down the women's doubles Baek Ha-na/Kim Hye-jeong.
