Government to Require Private Gas Stations to Buy Domestically Produced Solar Starting April 2026
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) will require private oil station business entities to purchase CN48 Solar type fuel oil from domestic production starting April 2026.
Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Laode Sulaeman, said PT Pertamina (Persero) had discussed with private business entities.
"The plan is that in April we must use domestic solar," he told the media at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, February 6.
He added, during the transition period until April, Pertamina has been asked to prepare adequate solar supplies to meet domestic needs, especially for private gas stations.
"At this transition, Pertamina must provide adequate holding ports. Then what is the cargo, it is also matched with how much volume is ordered by each business entity," explained Laode.
This is intended to ensure that these stocks meet the demand of each business entity.
"So in April there will be no more crises, because now we are mitigating everything," he continued.
Laode added that later Pertamina will also adjust the specifications of the solar needed by each private gas station. The procurement scheme also has the opportunity to be carried out in the form of pure fuel (base fuel), as in the procurement of gasoline the previous year.
"(The specifications) must be discussed. If it doesn't happen like last year, it must be based on fuel," said Laode.
