Sidak, Kenneth DPRD DKI Legislator Finds Many Potholes on the Pesing Flyover
JAKARTA - Member of the PDIP Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Hartdiyanto Kenneth, found many road damage on the Pesing Flyover, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta. The findings were obtained when he carried out a sudden inspection (sidak) on Thursday, February 5 evening, following numerous reports from residents.
The investigation was carried out in the middle of the night on the flyover section along the 1.5 kilometer stretch. Kent admitted to receiving complaints from the public regarding the condition of the potholes, which were considered dangerous for road users, especially at night and during rain.
"I received a lot of complaints from the public that the roads on the Pesing Flyover are very many potholes. Of course this is very dangerous, it can be a cause of accidents if it is left alone," Kenneth told reporters, Friday, February 6.
This member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Commission C admitted that he was concerned about the condition of the infrastructure at the location. In addition to road damage, he also found problems with the drainage system on the flyover.
"I found a lot of water ropes that were not working. So the main function of this water rope is to drain rainwater so that it does not flood the flyover, but I see here the water rope is covered by wild plants," said Kenneth.
Following up on his findings, Kenneth immediately contacted the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office to immediately carry out repairs. He emphasized that road user safety must be a priority.
"We apologize to the people of Jakarta. I immediately asked the DKI Transportation Office to complete the repairs as soon as possible," he said.
Separately, the Chairman of the Sub-Group for the Maintenance of Roads and Bridges of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office, Benny Situmorang, who went directly to the location, explained that the road damage on the Pesing Flyover was triggered by high rainfall in recent times.
Benny also admitted that there was a puddle on the flyover due to a clogged sewer. This condition accelerates the damage to the road surface.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office promises to immediately take action so that the Pesing Flyover is safe to cross again and does not endanger road users.
"We will continue to work hard to improve the potholes in the future, not only on this flyover. We apologize and in the future the community can report to us if there are findings of damaged roads," said Benny.
