Garena Game Jam 3 Officially Begins, Prepare Talenta Gim Local Competitive Global

Garena officially started the Garena Game Jam 3 game development competition: Reinvent The Game, which will be held for 48 hours, starting from February 6 to 8, 2026 at Binus University Jakarta.

The competition for game development for students, students, and fresh graduates, which is directly supported by the Ministry of Communication and Digital and the Ministry of Creative Economy, will challenge participants to create a game with the theme "Nothing Works as Expected".

Garena Game Jam 3: Reinvent the Game registration is open from December 5-19, 2025. From a total of 300 applicants, through an internal curation process, only 150 participants will be selected to participate in this prestigious competition.

Through this event, Deputy for Digital Economy and Creative Products, Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf), Muhammad Neil El Himam hopes that Indonesia can develop local talents for the development of games that are internationally competitive.

"This is part of the ecosystem for the national game industry, where this Game Jam is more about building human resources, how they can design and create (games)," said Neil on Friday, February 6 in Jakarta.

Furthermore, the Director of the Kemenekraf Gym, Luat Sihombing, also stated that after this event, participants will receive further assistance through various training and incubation programs prepared together with the government and other partners.

"If in the Game Jam, he will only be 48 hours, then he will participate in both the Komdigi and Ekraf programs. They can participate as participants to eventually create products that are incubated in the long term. This means that the result is a product that is ready for commercialization, ready for funding, ready to be released," said Luat.

In the future, both the government and Garena hope that the Indonesian game industry will not only be able to compete in the global market, but also gain a strong foothold in the country.
