There is Recklessness, Komdigi Investigates Internal Data on Applicants that Leak
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital said it was conducting an internal investigation regarding the Ministry of Komdigi's job vacancy upload, where applicants can see the personal data of other applicants in Google Drive.
The Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria emphasized that the investigation had been handed over to the Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure, to find out the reason why the error could occur.
"It was investigated again and again by the Inspector General. So where is the mistake and we will see. Why did it happen, we have also talked to the Director General of Digital Infrastructure, and so the investigation was carried out internally," Nezar told the media on Friday, February 6.
However, Nezar admitted that there was negligence. He said, after finding out about it, Komdigi immediately closed access to Google Drive and moved it to another, safer platform.
"And we know that the carelessness happened in a short time. Then it was immediately closed and replaced with another channel, using a safer platform," he added.
This news started from a video on social media from content creator Abil Sudarman who revealed irregularities in the recruitment process at Komdigi. Abil said that a locker with a registration link on komdigi.go.id directed applicants to a Google Drive folder.
There, all the applicant's folders containing the applicant's personal documents, ranging from a curriculum vitae (CV), identity card (KTP), job application letter, health certificate, transcript of grades, to work experience letters, can be clearly seen by other applicants.
He assessed that this practice is high risk to the security of personal data and has the potential to violate the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law).
