Wamenkes: Hospitals Cannot Reject Patients for BPJS PBI Blood Transfusion Inactive

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono ensures that there should be no rejection of dialysis patients who fall into the category of National Health Insurance (JKN) participants with the status of Recipients of Current Dues (PBI) are inactive.

The Minister of Health Dante said that there was indeed an adjustment of PBI data from the Ministry of Social Affairs which resulted in the status of a number of BPJS Health participants being inactive.

"But now it has been changed and we hope that if it really needs a blood transfusion, it can be reactivated by BPJS and we will not refuse to have a blood transfusion at all," said the Deputy Minister of Health, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 6.

"No, no, no," said the Deputy Minister of Health when asked about the potential rejection of patients with inactive BPJS Kesehatan status due to the update of the PBI data.

He explained that participants whose status is inactive but meet the requirements to become PBI can resume activities through the local Social Service.

Regarding the fate of PBI patients who had to undergo dialysis, he ensured that the treatment process had resumed.

"They have started treatment again, if they have not activated them, they just have to come to the health facility to activate again," he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Social Affairs said that BPJS Health participants who had to undergo blood transfusions with an inactive status would be reactivated immediately.

Deputy Minister of Social Affairs (Wamensos) Agus Jabo Priyono during a visit to Cisarua, West Java today, ensured that his party would carry out reactivation for dialysis patients whose membership had been deactivated.

"I say this specifically for dialysis patients. We will immediately reactivate again. We are coordinating with the Ministry of Health and BPJS," said Wamensos Agus Jabo.
