Pramono Bidik Jakarta Inflation 2026 Under National Target
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung targets the Jakarta inflation rate in 2026 to be below the national inflation target set by the central government of 2.5 percent ± 1 percent.
The target was conveyed by Pramono at the High Level Meeting (HLM) of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of the DKI Jakarta Province ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026.
The HLM TPID DKI Jakarta was attended by Pramono together with Deputy Governor Rano Karno, Bank Indonesia, Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
"The DKI Jakarta government's target in 2026 is still targeting inflation lower than that set by the central government, namely 2.5 plus minus 1 percent. We are confident that we can achieve this with good cooperation in TPID," said Pramono at Aryaduta Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 6.
In addition to discussing inflation, Pramono also explained the performance of the Jakarta economy throughout 2025. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Jakarta economy grew 5.21 percent year-on-year, higher than the national economic growth of 5.11 percent.
He highlighted Jakarta's economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 which reached 5.71 percent. According to Pramono, this achievement is inseparable from various economic activities held before Christmas and New Year.
"For me and the Deputy Governor, as well as the City Hall staff, the most encouraging thing is that in the fourth quarter we can grow by 5.71 percent. This means that the high growth is influenced by various activities that we do in order to welcome Christmas and New Year, which significantly affect the pattern of people in spending their money," he said.
Pramono explained that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government routinely encourages consumption and economic activity through various agendas, one of which is the Jakarta Festive Wonders (JFW) 2025. The program encourages the digitization of transactions and decorations in shopping centers and hotels.
"The JFW 2025 event which just ended in January generated transactions of Rp. 15.2 trillion. This significantly contributed to the growth of the Jakarta economy, which in the third quarter experienced growth of close to 5 percent, and this is far above 5 percent," he said.
Overall, Pramono said that DKI Jakarta's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contribution in 2025 reached 16.61 percent of the national GDP. Almost all business fields in Jakarta recorded positive growth throughout last year.
"The sectors that grow well in Jakarta during 2025 are accommodation and food and beverage providers, which we have given incentives and exemptions many times. When given, it turns out that growth is even better. The second is the transportation and warehousing sector, as well as other services," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for DKI Jakarta Province, Iwan Setiawan, assessed that Jakarta's economy showed strong resilience. He appreciated the role of the DKI Provincial Government in maintaining the momentum of economic recovery.
"We can get out of the crisis. It can be said that in the third quarter economic growth was below 5 percent, but now it can jump to 5.71 percent. I think one of the reasons is the very strong leadership of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Iwan.
Iwan added that the collaboration of TPID is the key to keeping Jakarta's inflation under control amid potential price pressures in 2026.
"We at TPID collaborate very solidly. Insyaallah, we will continue to monitor economic growth in 2026 and keep inflation under control within a range of 2.5 percent ± 1 percent," he said.
