Singapore Considers Trump's Offer to Join Peace Board

JAKARTA - Singapore is evaluating US President Donald Trump's offer to join the Board of Peace (BoP).

The Straits Times on Thursday (5/2) reported that Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan said this when five parliamentarians asked him about the open invitation from the United States for Singapore to join the BoP.

On January 16, Trump announced the formation of the BoP, which included US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

The council also includes former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and US Deputy National Security Adviser Robert Gabriel.

Trump also invited a number of other world leaders, including those from Russia and Belarus, to join the council.
