Collaborating With Cinta Laura, Sandiaga Uno Promotes The Potential Of Cibuntu Tourism Village

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno collaborated with celebrity and content creator Cinta Laura to promote the tourist village of Cibuntu, Kuningan Regency, West Java.

Sandiaga said the existence of tourism could be a symbol of the revival of the national economy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because tourist villages are able to move the community's economy directly.

Therefore, Sandiaga supports the development of the potential of the Cibuntu tourist village, through the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) as an effort to move the community's economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"For this reason, we hope that the community can support and participate in the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Award, to encourage national economic growth, especially in the tourism and creative economy," he said, quoted Tuesday, June 1.

The Enchantment of Cibuntu Tourism Village

The tourist village of Cibuntu, which is 17 kilometers from Kuningan City, West Java, is located at the foot of Mount Ciremai which presents the natural charm of the green expanse of rice fields and bamboo forests as well as other natural attractions.

Sandiaga said that the potential of the tourist village, which was inaugurated in 2012, is known for its natural beauty, ranging from Gongseng Waterfall to a camping ground equipped with clean toilet facilities that are friendly to tourists.

For those who like history, Cibuntu Tourism Village is also famous for the sites of Saurip Kidul, Bujal Dayeuh, and Hulu Dayeuh in which there are relics in the form of statues during the Hindu-Buddhist Kingdom.

Not only that, what's unique is that, from a distance, a row of houses with tiled roofs are very similar to residential areas. But it turned out that there was a sheep pen, the residents' livestock that used to be near their homes, were moved because there were regulations from the government, the people agreed to move their livestock there. As a result, it is currently an attraction for tourists who come to the Cibuntu Tourism Village under the name Kampung Lamb.

In 2016, Cibuntu Tourism Village won an award as one of the 5 Best Villages in the homestay field at the ASEAN level. So that until now the village community is committed to continuing to improve services and providing accommodation while still implementing the CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environment) health protocol.

On the same occasion, Kuningan Regent Acep Purnama said that the Tourism Village which won an award from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as a Tourism Village that implemented the 2nd Community Based Tourism (CBT) concept in Indonesia was one of the 25 tourist villages targeted by the Regional Government. "We have a target of developing 25 tourist villages. But now we have exceeded the target to become 47 tourist villages. In accordance with the vision of West Java being champion and leading to advanced Indonesia," he said.

Acep said, this village used to be a place of exploration or excavation. However, gradually the community realized and was supported by various parties, so the Cibuntu Tourism Village could become what it is today.

"Even though this place used to be a place of exploration or excavation, God still gave blessings. Thank God it is supported by adequate facilities, plus this year there will be construction of other facilities, such as halls, joglos, prayer rooms, and other facilities and infrastructure," he said.

For your information, the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Award carries the theme Indonesia Rise which is expected to encourage all tourism and creative industries to be able to improve the economy and capacity of local communities.

ADWI 2021 is an event to give awards to tourist villages throughout Indonesia that have achievements with 7 categories of assessment, namely: Homestay, Toilet, Souvenir, Digital Village, CHSE, Creative Content, and Tourist Attraction.
