A Week of Moving Land in Padasari Tegal Village Has Been Going on, More than a Thousand Residents Have Displaced
JAKARTA - The land movement in Padasari Village, Tegal Regency, Central Java, is still ongoing and has caused thousands of residents and students to flee to safer locations.
Head of the Data, Information and Communication Center for Disaster Management of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Abdul Muhari, said that as of Thursday (5/2) evening, a total of 1,686 residents or 295 heads of households (HH) were affected by the land movement that occurred since Monday (2/2) evening at 19.00 WIB.
"This event reached 295 KK. It is likely to increase as the land movement continues to this day," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 6.
According to him, in addition to the residents' houses, there was also a pesantren in the local village that reported that the building collapsed, so the students had to be evacuated.
Pusdalops BNPB noted that most of the affected residents were forced to evacuate to the evacuation, consisting of 1,160 residents and 526 students of Ponpes Al. They are spread across six evacuation points, including the Az Zikir wa Rotiban Assembly, SDN 2 Padasari, Dukuh Lebak, the D. Pengasinan Assembly, Ponpes Dawuhan, the multipurpose building of Penujah Village, and several residents' houses.
Meanwhile, as a result of the rapid survey of the Central Java Provincial BPBD and the Tegal Regency BPBD, land movement caused damage to 464 residents' houses, with 205 units of which were severely damaged, and had an impact on seven educational facilities, one worship facility, one health facility, one irrigation dam, one village bridge, three village and district roads, and the Padasari Village Office.
Emergency handling posts, kitchens, health services, were reported to have been established in several strategic locations that are closest to the affected residents by the local government.
According to Abdul, the Tegal Regency Government has set the Emergency Response Status for the Moving Land Disaster through SK Number 100.3.3.2/127/2026 which is valid until February 16, 2026.
"BNPB continues to coordinate and monitor emergency handling. We urge residents to follow the local BPBD directions and remain vigilant to anticipate potential threats that are widespread in the region," he said.
