Prabowo Offers Danantara as an Investment Partner for Australia
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto invited Australia to develop joint ventures or joint ventures in the agricultural sector to mining, where Danantara Indonesia is ready to be a partner.
In a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Prabowo discussed various priority agendas in the agricultural sector.
"Today, I and Prime Minister Albanese also discussed various priority agendas in the agricultural sector. I invite Australia to develop joint ventures in the agricultural sector in both countries," said the president as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 6.
Prabowo explained that the Indonesian government is increasing productivity in the agricultural sector. This is an effort by the government to achieve food self-sufficiency.
In addition, the president also invited Australia to invest in the downstream sector of critical minerals, including the processing of nickel, copper, bauxite, and gold.
On the other hand, the president will encourage Indonesian companies to invest in Australia's critical mineral mining sector.
"Andantara is ready to work with its partners in Australia to explore co-investment opportunities and in various other forms of partnerships," he said.
Previously, Prabowo and Albanese signed a joint security treaty.
This joint security agreement reflects the determination of both countries to continue to work closely together in maintaining their respective national security, as well as making a real contribution to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
For Indonesia, the president said, this reflects a firm commitment to the principle of good neighborliness and Indonesia's foreign policy of active freedom.
