Press Stunting in Cilegon, Minister Wihaji Launches GENTING Movement Through Cross-Sector Collaboration
CILEGON - The Minister of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga)/Head of BKKBN, Dr. Wihaji, S.Ag., M.Pd., made a direct field visit to the Stunting Risk Family (KRS) house in Pasir Angin, Cilegon City, on Thursday (05/02/2026).
Using the KB Guidance operational motorcycle, Minister Wihaji traced the settlement of residents to ensure that the government's priority programs are targeted. Currently, Cilegon City has recorded a prevalence rate of stunting of 19%, which is a serious concern for the central government.
Direct Touch to the Grass Roots
During the visit, Minister Wihaji visited two target families. At the first house, he appreciated the couple Iksan (28) and Ida Rosida (25) who had been active in the Family Planning (KB) program after the birth of their second child.
However, a different condition was found in the second family, namely Nur Holis (27) and Sarwati (24). Occupying a wooden stilt house that was starting to be fragile, this family admitted that they had economic difficulties and were in debt for daily needs.
Responding to this, Minister Wihaji spontaneously provided cash assistance to pay off the family's debt.
"This is assistance to alleviate the burden, so that families can focus more on childcare and child health," said Minister Wihaji.
GENTING Movement: Holistic Solution from Hulu
This visit is part of the implementation of the Caregiver Parents Movement to Prevent Stunting (GENTING). The Minister emphasized that stunting could not be handled only from the nutritional side, but also a decent living environment.
Through the GENTING scheme, real collaboration is also realized:

Government-Local Government Synergy and Kader
The Mayor of Cilegon, Robinsar, who accompanied him, expressed his readiness to strengthen synergy with the Ministry of Education and Culture. He is committed to optimizing regional resources to reduce the stunting rate of 19% in his region.
At the end of the visit, Minister Wihaji gave high appreciation to the KB cadres and advisors. According to him, the KB advisor motor he used today is a symbol of the dedication of field officers.
"Data and direct dialogues like this become our compass. Policies such as GENTING are designed to really touch the basic needs of families for the development of quality human resources," he concluded.
