Minister of Social Affairs: Hospitals Cannot Reject Patients Receiving PBI-JK Assistance
JAKARTA - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf emphasized that hospitals or health facilities should not refuse to serve patients who are BPJS participants in the Health Insurance Contribution Recipient (PBI-JK) segment who have been deactivated because they can still be reactivated quickly.
"I have coordinated with the Minister of Health and the President Director of BPJS and there is a solution. In principle, hospitals should not reject patients because this cannot be delayed, especially those who are in emergency," said Gus Ipul as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 5.
According to him, there are indeed changes in the status of PBI-JK membership. A number of participants have been deactivated, and their membership has been transferred to those who need it more because of data updates.
The Ministry of Social Affairs confirmed that the process of deactivation and transfer of PBI-JK membership to those who are more in need had begun since last year, as part of updating data to ensure more targeted assistance.
In this case, 25 thousand participants who meet the requirements have also been reactivated as PBI-JK participants.
However, if it is later found that the disabled participant is entitled to receive and meet the requirements in this case is listed in Desil 1-4 National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN), then his membership can be reactivated through the PBI-JK reactivation process carried out by the local government through the local Social Service.
"In order to finance it, the government is responsible, if it is indeed from a family that is in Desil 1 to Desil 4 or a family that has been determined by the local government as a family that is eligible to receive assistance, we will help the process," he said. confirmed.
The Ministry of Social Affairs ensures that it will actively coordinate with the Ministry of Health, BPJS Health, and local governments in order to ensure that the reactivation process for eligible recipients can run quickly. At the same time, hospitals must continue to provide services to all patients.
"I think, we will not let this patient lose hope, so it is clear, the Ministry of Social Affairs is very clear, the Ministry of Health is very clear, BPJS is also very clear. So I am sad if there are hospitals that reject patients, let alone patients who are BPJS Kesehatan, anyone who is a patient must be served," he said.
