Australian PM Albanese arrives in Jakarta, to meet Prabowo at the Palace tomorrow
JAKARTA - Australian Prime Minister (PM) Anthony Albanese arrived in Jakarta, in order to begin a working visit (kunker) in Indonesia to strengthen the strategic partnership.
The plane carrying PM Albanese landed at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at around 18.50 WIB, Thursday, February 5.
Reported by ANTARA, upon arriving at the foot of the aircraft stairs, PM Albanese was greeted by, among others, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Investment and Industrialization Rosan Roeslani, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Rod Brazier, Indonesian Ambassador to Australia Siswo Pramono, and Australian Defense Attaché Brigadier Micah Batt.
The welcoming procession took place solemnly with the presence of the honor guard standing tall along the welcoming route to the official vehicle.
The atmosphere was further enlivened when PM Albanese stepped past the honor guard with the accompaniment of a drum band, marking the official honor for the head of the government of a friendly country.
After the welcoming procession, PM Albanese and his limited entourage immediately departed for the hotel where he stayed during his stay in Jakarta.
In this working visit, PM Albanese is scheduled to be officially received by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday (6/2).
The meeting is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Australia in various fields.
