Visiting Syria, French Foreign Minister Emphasizes His Country Continues to Wipe Out Daesh Militants

JAKARTA - French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot confirmed his country's priority in Syria is to continue to fight Daesh militants.

Noel Barrot emphasized the French mission when meeting his counterpart from Syria in Damascus on Thursday, February 5.

"For 10 years, France has fought tirelessly and mercilessly against Daesh terrorists in Iraq and in Syria," he said, quoted by AFP.

Syria is the first stop on the French Foreign Minister's diplomatic tour of the Middle East.

Noel Barrot said France would continue to fight Daesh militants.

"I have come to reaffirm France's absolute priority in Syria," he said.
