Stay Free! Adjustment Of Balance Check Fees And Cash Withdrawals At ATM Link Postponed
JAKARTA - The Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) and PT Jalin Payment Nusantara (Jalin) have agreed to reschedule the implementation of the adjustment of transaction fees for checking balances and cash withdrawals made at Red and White automated teller machines (ATMs) or ATMs with an ATM Link display. .
BNI Deputy President Director Adi Sulistyowati said the tariff adjustment, which was originally to be implemented on June 1, 2021, has been postponed until an undetermined time. This postponement is expected to increase socialization to the wider community.
Furthermore, Adi emphasized that although the transaction rates at ATM Link will be adjusted later, Himbara customers can still enjoy free balance check and cash withdrawal services through ATMs with the same logo as the card issuer.
"For example, the owner of a BNI ATM card is not charged the transaction fee if it is used at the BNI ATM Link. Customers also have the option to check their balance for free through mobile banking services," he said, in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 1.
After the tariff changes will take effect, said Adi, BRI, BNI, Mandiri and BTN who join the ATM Link service ensure that transaction services at ATM Link will be better. Himbara and Jalin's commitment to continue to accelerate financial inclusion and literacy will be realized through an extensive network to remote areas with the support of more than 45,000 ATMs.
"But it should be remembered that the new tariff adjustment for balance check and cash withdrawal rates remains lower than other ATM networks in Indonesia. Especially for customers who receive social assistance, balance checks and cash withdrawals at ATM Link will not be charged at all," he said.
In addition to a wider reach, said Adi, the adjustment of ATM Link transaction fees is expected to have a positive impact on improving service quality, security, and customer convenience in transactions.
"Himbara also invites customers to be able to transact non-cash (cashless) and perform various kinds of banking transactions digitally," he said.
First plan
Previously, transactions for checking balances and cash withdrawals used debit cards from state-owned banks, namely PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI), PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BNI), and PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN), at the teller machine. Mandiri cash (ATM) Link will incur a fee.
The fees set by the four banks are the same, for balance check transactions of IDR 2,500 and cash withdrawals of IDR 5,000 at different Himbara ATM machines and ATM Links, from the original IDR 0 or free. Meanwhile, this tariff change will take effect on June 1, 2021.
BNI Corporate Secretary Mucharom said the reason Bank Himbara agreed to make adjustments to transaction fees at the Himbara Link ATM was to build a sustainable business. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the transaction fees for cash withdrawals and balance checks.
"The fee adjustment is certainly still lower when compared to transaction fees other than through ATM Link," he told reporters, Friday, May 21.
The adjustment of transaction fees is a form of Himbara's commitment to continuously improve inclusive banking services, increase security and convenience at affordable costs for the community. In addition, said Mucharom, Himbara also supports the National Non-Cash Movement (GNNT) program.
"Where the adjustment of transaction costs is to reduce public dependence on the use of cash," he said.
BNI, according to Mucharom, also continues to innovate digital services for customers. One of them is for cardless cash withdrawals at ATMs using the Mobile Cash feature available in BNI Mobile Banking.
"So it is easier to withdraw cash for yourself and others without the need to carry a debit card," he said.
