Immigration is Hot in 2026, Digital Systems are Accelerated and 18 New Offices are Opened
Tangerang - The Ministry of Immigration and Correction started 2026 with two strategic steps through accelerating the digital transformation of immigration services and expanding the reach of services by inaugurating 18 new immigration offices in various regions.
Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections Silmy Karim said that digital transformation was carried out through the optimization of an integrated national immigration digital ecosystem.
This was conveyed by Silmy when leading the Coordination Meeting of the High-Level Immigration Leadership in Tangerang, some time ago with the theme of optimizing services, law enforcement, and immigration infrastructure.
Silmy explained that the implementation of the All Indonesia system has changed the face of immigration services at all state gates.
This system allows the process of crossing people to be faster and more efficient, while increasing the accuracy of data verification and state security.
"This system is the result of a two-year collaboration between ministries and agencies. Data integration facilitates identity verification and supports early detection of potential threats," said Silmy in an electronic message received in Jakarta, Thursday, February 5.
In addition to the implementation of a digital system, modernization of infrastructure is also carried out through the addition of autogate units at airports and seaports, as well as the improvement of facilities at the State Border Crossing Post and Traditional Border Crossing Post in border areas.
Silmy emphasized that strengthening technology must go hand in hand with law enforcement efforts, especially in preventing human trafficking and human smuggling.
"We must remain at the forefront of preventing TPPO and TPPM, while providing the best service to the community," he said.
The Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto inaugurated 18 new immigration offices in the context of the 76th Anniversary of Immigration Bhakti Day which was held at the Immigration Polytechnic Campus, Tangerang.
Agus said the development of the new immigration office was not only aimed at expanding the reach of services, but also strengthening technology-based services that continue to be developed.
With the addition, the number of immigration offices in Indonesia now reaches 151 units, an increase from the previous 133 units. The new offices are spread across various regions to bring services closer to the community.
"With the new immigration office, immigration services will be closer, faster, and easier for the public to access, who have been facing obstacles in document management," said Agus.
