Kickboxing star Mike Zambidis claims he will duel with Floyd Mayweather

JAKARTA - Kickboxing star Mike Zambidis uploaded an announcement claiming that he would fight former undefeated world champion Floyd Mayweather this year.

Mayweather has previously announced that he will fight heavyweight boxing icon Mike Tyson in a big exhibition match this year.

The duel between Mayweather and Tyson was initially quiet. However, the 59-year-old Concrete Neck later gave a signal that the fight would take place in Africa in March 2026.

So far, no further official announcements have followed and the promotion of this event is very minimal. In fact, there is only one month left until the potential fight takes place. So, the latest announcement above makes the chance of a duel against Mike can be realized.

Zambidis, who is an 18-time kickboxing champion, uploaded a poster of his fight against boxing legend Mayweather after a few hours earlier giving clues about the announcement.

The post showed that the two had been confirmed to meet on June 27, 2026 at the Oaka Arena, Athens, Greece. The poster includes a reference to Mayweather Promotions, which shows that they are involved in the event.

"History will soon be created," the caption read in the poster upload as quoted from Talksport.

Zambidis is now 45, just as Mayweather has passed his physical peak, and has not fought since 2015. His last appearance in the kickboxing world was in a points victory over Steve Moxon in a farewell event.

Thus, this will be his first fight in 11 years and will most likely take place in a professional boxing arena with traditional rules.

Mayweather certainly seems to still be challenging Tyson, who seems to have gone too far given his opponent's crushing defeat to Jake Paul in a comeback match in 2024.

Several alternative options remain in the planning stage and Mayweather is open to all opportunities for the match to be held only as an exhibition.

The 48-year-old has even been linked with a possible return to the professional fold. His most famous rival, Manny Pacquiao, has even been linked with a shock rematch.

Later reports emerged that the two were negotiating to make a sequel to the hit film. However, for now, it seems Mayweather will be traveling to Southeast Europe for the first time in his career.
