Transjakarta Often Late During Rainy Season, Pramono Reveals the Cause

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that there was a delay in the arrival of Transjakarta services at bus stops and bus stops during the rainy season. Usually, this delay occurs in the morning and afternoon or rush hours.

The delay in arrival time often results in the accumulation of Transjakarta users getting crowded when queuing to enter the fleet. This condition is often complained about by the community.

"Why is there so much complaint now, there are complaints about the long wait? The first thing to be admitted is that because of the rainy season, it often takes a long time to wait," said Pramono in North Jakarta, Thursday, February 5.

When heavy rain hits Jakarta, a number of roads are often affected by puddles which make it difficult for vehicles to pass. This also causes the traffic jam to get worse, including the Transjakarta bus which is hampered from going to the next stop.

In addition, Pramono emphasized that the number of Transjakarta passengers is increasing. During 2025, Transjakarta recorded 1.4 million per day. In addition, the DKI Provincial Government is now expanding the scope of recipients of free transportation service cards.

"People riding public transportation in Jakarta is now increasing rapidly. Why? 15 groups we free. That is why people now, riding public transportation has become a new habit," said Pramono.

"There must also be an addition to the fleet. In fact, my target in 2029, the 10,000 Transjakarta buses are electric buses," he continued.

On that occasion, Pramono also ensured that the Transjabodetabek service on the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route, which will officially operate next week, will apply the same tariff as the regular Transjakarta service. There is no price adjustment for the new route.

Pramono said the tariff decision was confirmed in a limited meeting to finalize the Transjabodetabek service held today. The tariff scheme remains in accordance with the provisions of Transjakarta which has been in effect until now.

"Today we have a special meeting to finalize the TransJabodetabek from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta. Regarding the tariff plan, there has been no change, it will still be before 6 am Rp2,000, after 6 am Rp3,500," said Pramono.

To support the operation of the Blok M-Soetta route, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared 20 bus fleets. With this number, the arrival interval of the bus is targeted not to be too long, even though it serves long-distance travel to the airport.

"Regarding the fleet that is prepared for this route, it is 20, so that every 5, a maximum of 10 minutes, there is always one," he said.
