Head of Narcotics Police Bima Police Investigated for Drug Sales After Bripka Karol Was a Suspect

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (NTB) has examined the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Bima City Police, AKP Malaungiatas, for allegedly being involved in a drug trafficking network.

"It is still under investigation by the Narcotics Directorate (Directorate of Narcotics Investigation)," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Muhammad Kholid, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 5.

The examination of AKP Malaungi is a follow-up to the arrest by the NTB Police Narcotics Division on Tuesday (3/2).

A number of evidence allegedly related to drug abuse was also secured from the results of the search of AKP Malaungi's room at the Bima City Police Headquarters.

The NTB Police Narcotics Division arrested AKP Malaungi based on the results of the development of the arrest of Bripka Karol, a member of the Bima City Police with his wife with the initials N and two close people.

Regarding the results of the urine test for AKP Malaungi who is known to have been secured at the NTB Police Headquarters, Kholid has not given further information.

Director of Resnarkoba of the NTB Police, Kombes Roman Smaradhana Elhaj, said that Bripka Karol along with his wife and two colleagues had been named suspects and were being held at the NTB Police Headquarters.

Bripka Karol and his wife are suspected of being involved in the circulation of methamphetamine in Bima City. Two of his colleagues also helped in the circulation.

From the case of Bripka Karol, the police secured evidence of drugs of the type of crystal methamphetamine with a gross weight of 35.76 grams and cash of Rp88.8 million which was suspected to be the proceeds of drug transactions.
