Gulf States Urge US to Agree to Talks with Iran in Oman
JAKARTA - A total of nine Middle Eastern countries urged the government of US President Donald Trump to agree to negotiations with Iran in Oman after Iran requested a change of venue.
The talks, which will take place on Friday, risk failing, but Arab countries are asking the US not to cancel them, the report said, citing two US officials familiar with the matter.
Although the US expressed skepticism about the negotiations, the Trump administration agreed to hold the meeting to honor its allies in the region and seek a diplomatic solution, according to the report.
