Mardiono Targets PPP to Return to Senayan in the 2029 Election
INDRAMAYU - Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono encourages the strengthening of cadre consolidation in West Java as a strategic step to return the PPP to parliament in the 2029 election.
This was conveyed when opening the 10th Regional Consultative Meeting (Muswil) of the West Java PPP Regional Leadership Council (DPW) in Indramayu Regency, Wednesday, February 4.
Mardiono assessed that a solid consolidation in the region has proven to be able to increase seat acquisition, including in areas that previously did not have PPP representatives in parliament.
"In a number of areas that I visited, which did not have seats, there were seats, and some even became winners," said Mardiono.
He emphasized that Muswil was an important momentum to prepare the political agenda in the future, ranging from party verification at the beginning of 2027 to the recruitment of legislative candidates ahead of the 2029 election.
"All of this must be done together. This Muswil is part of the party's consolidation," he said.
Mardiono also asked PPP cadres in West Java to strengthen political work at the grassroots level so that the party could regain public confidence.
"What we are fighting for is the people, not our own interests. We must be more mature in politics," he explained.
Regarding the party's national agenda, Mardiono said the PPP National Working Conference (Mukernas) will be held in Makassar on February 11-12, 2026 after all Muswil is completed.
