KPK OTT Disinggung Menkeu Purbaya, Rotasi 'Titik Gemuk' Pajak–Cukai: Tak Ada Intervensi
JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa alluded to the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) hand-in-hand operation that took place that day, amid a massive rotation of tax and customs officials that he called a "shock therapy". During a meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Wednesday, February 4, he emphasized that there would be no law enforcement intervention, although the ministry would assist employees legally.
He said there were actions that day in Banjarmasin and Lampung, and stated that the case was left to run its course. Purbaya rejected the pattern of visiting the President to ask the KPK to "settle" the case or ask the prosecutor's office to stop the case. "I will help. But I will let the legal process run as fairly as possible. If it's wrong, it's guilty, but if it's not, don't be abused," he said.
The statement was accompanied by "shock therapy" in the form of rotation at points he called "fat" and crowded, both at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise and the Directorate General of Taxes.
For Customs, he said he had replaced almost 34 officials at the central post who had been judged not to follow up orders properly.
Giliran Pajak, the rotation is said to be carried out this week: around 45-50 people from the "fat" location are moved to a quieter place, especially those he values are still "having discussions with certain taxpayers".
He admitted that the option of harsh sanctions for ASN was limited. "I want to house... I can't," he said. Therefore, massive rotation is used as a quick correction without hitting the civil service rules.
