The condition of the Banjarmasin Tax Office after the KPK OTT

BANJARMASIN - The activities of employees at the Banjarmasin Pratama Tax Service Office (KPP) and Banjarmasin Sub-KPP, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) were observed to be normal after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Operation Catch Hand (OTT) against a number of officials at the tax service office.

Monitoring by ANTARA at the Banjarmasin Pratama KPP and Banjarmasin Middle KPP, the atmosphere in front of the office was quiet, only occasionally seen by the flow of employees and visitors at the tax service office.

Two security officers at the Banjarmasin Pratama KPP and the Banjarmasin KPP, who did not want to be named, revealed that employee activities had been normal since this morning.

"We don't see any officers (related to the KPK OTT), since the morning of normal activity. For complete information, you can ask directly to the regional office," said one of the security officers at the office, Wednesday, February 4.

The KPK confirmed that it had carried out the fourth OTT in 2026 in the environment of the Banjarmasin Tax Service Office (KPP), South Kalimantan.

"Yes, in South Kalimantan. KPP Banjarmasin," said Deputy Chairman of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto when confirmed by ANTARA from Jakarta, Wednesday.

When asked about the case material related to the alleged bribery or extortion, Fitroh said that the KPK was still investigating it.

"It is still being investigated," he said.

The KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the status of the parties arrested in the OTT in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

Previously, the KPK began the first OTT in 2026 by arresting eight people during 9-10 January 2026.

On January 11, 2026, the KPK revealed the OTT regarding alleged bribes related to tax examinations in the environment of the North Jakarta Sub-Tax Office at the Directorate General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance for the period 2021-2026.

For the second OTT in 2026, the KPK confirmed on January 19, 2026, that it had arrested the Mayor of Madiun Maidi along with 14 others.

The OTT is related to alleged corruption in the form of extortion with the modus operandi of project rewards and CSR funds and other receipts or gratuities in the environment of the Madiun City Government, East Java.

On the same date, the KPK confirmed that it had carried out a third OTT in 2026 in Pati Regency, Central Java, and arrested the Regent of Pati, Sudewo. The OTT is related to alleged extortion in filling village apparatus positions in the Pati Regency Government environment.
