Commission VIII Scheduled Joint Meeting with Commission X DPR to Discuss the Case of Suicide in NTT
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, Singgih Januratmoko, said his party plans to schedule a joint meeting agenda with Commission X of the House of Representatives to discuss the case of a child who committed suicide in Ngada, East Nusa Tenggara, because he was unable to buy books and pens.
Commission VIII of the DPR, will also call the Ministry of PPPA and the Ministry of Social Affairs to respond to this issue.
"Yes, it's true. So we plan to do it soon, the earliest we will immediately combine it with Commission VIII, yes, the problem of public schools or how we will go forward, we will immediately do what the results in Commission X for education problems are also," said Singgih at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 4.
It is known that Commission VIII of the DPR is a completeness tool (AKD) which is one of them dealing with social problems. Meanwhile, Commission X of the DPR focuses on the field of education and youth.
Singgih assessed that schools should be required to add psychology-related subjects. Not only provide guidance teachers or guidance counseling (BP/BK).
"So later maybe in school there should also be a special subject, yes, or for this child's psychological problems," said Singgih.
"Actually, there is BP, but it's not a mischief, it's people because they are desperate, the child is bullied or how we don't know the actual incident, he feels inferior and finally commits suicide," continued the Golkar Legislator from the Central Java District.
Singgih also ensured that Commission VIII of the DPR would call the Ministry of Empowerment of Women and Child Protection (PPPA) and the Ministry of Social Affairs next week to discuss this case. Because the two are directly involved in the problem.
"Yes, I will immediately call the ministry, Anu, what is his name, with Commission VIII, we will schedule next week," said Singgih.
"(Including the Ministry of Social Affairs) Yes, later everything will be done as soon as possible for the possibility," he concluded.
