To Be Assembled Locally, Zeekr Prices Potentially More Competitive
JAKARTA - Geely Auto Indonesia is confirmed to bring its premium subbrand, Zeekr, which will greet national automotive fans again at the 2026 IIMS exhibition. Previously, Zeekr had already been present in Indonesia, namely at GJAW 2024.
Later, two models were immediately introduced to the public, but did not officially launch the models displayed during the exhibition.
"It hasn't been launched, just introduce it first and the model is 009 and 7X," said Geely Auto Indonesia's Sales & Channel Development Director, Constantinus Herlijoso, when met in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 4.
Zeekr itself will fill the premium segment, and when it was first brought to Indonesia, the two cars on display, X and 009, were estimated to be sold for around IDR 1.1 billion and IDR 2 billion, the above figures can still be suppressed because they are assembled in Indonesia.
"Our plan for Zeekr is to do assembly. So hopefully on the price side it should be better, more competitive," he added.
As is known, currently Geely officially produces electric cars (EV) locally in Indonesia starting in the third quarter of 2025 by assembling models such as EX5, Starray EM-i, and Xingyuan at PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) facilities in Purwakarta, West Java.
Of course, it is worth waiting for Geely's impact to bring the Zeekr brand to the Indonesian automotive market, so that it will be more exciting.
