Pandji Pragiwaksono chooses dialogue, meets MUI after police report

JAKARTA - Comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono showed a very cooperative attitude in facing a series of police reports that trapped him after his stand-up comedy event, Mens Rea caused a controversy.

Instead of avoiding it, he was proactive in opening a space for dialogue by visiting the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

Accompanied by his lawyer, Haris Azhar, Pandji came to the MUI office to carry out tabayun or clarification.

"We came here, actually, what is the intention of tabayun, silaturahim, explaining the situation," said Haris Azhar in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 3.

They take this step as a starting point to respond to all existing reports. They hope that MUI, with its scientific capacity and institutions, can provide an insightful view. For Pandji, dialogue is the key.

"One important key to Pandji is dialogue," said Haris.

During the meeting, Pandji explained directly about the meaning and purpose of his stand-up comedy show, "Mensrea". He even watched his show again with representatives of the MUI.

"I intend to socialize and then to tabayun to try to explain the meaning behind my performance," said Pandji.

In addition to visiting the MUI, Pandji also ensured that he would meet the call from the police. He is scheduled to provide clarification at the Polda Metro Jaya on Friday.

This cooperative attitude shows that Pandji does not have evil intentions and is ready to take responsibility for his work.

"I will not shy away from the invitation to dialogue," he said.
