6 Houses Damaged by Landslide in Campakawarna Village, Cianjur
Cianjur - The Cianjur Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in West Java stated that the provisional report on the results of data collection on damage due to landslides in Campakawarna Village, Campaka District, Mulyasekitar six houses were severely damaged and the main road was broken.
Cianjur BPBD Secretary Asep Sudrajat said his party immediately sent officers to the location to conduct data collection on the impact of damage due to landslides that occurred after heavy rain hit the area.
"The interim report of six houses, including places of worship, was buried in a landslide, there were no casualties because the owners had already evacuated," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 3.
His party also noted that the main connecting road between villages in Campakawarna Village, which is 150 meters long, was cut off because of a landslide of more than 1 meter in height so that vehicles from both directions could not pass through.
Officers and volunteers are asked to evacuate affected residents and residents whose houses are threatened to a safe area for a temporary period until officers carry out quick handling so that the subsequent landslide does not occur again.
His party has coordinated with the relevant services to lower heavy equipment to reopen the main road connecting the villages that were covered by a landslide long enough with a landslide height of more than 1 meter.
"We immediately carried out quick handling, including lowering heavy equipment, so that the road access could be reopened and residents were not isolated, for residents whose houses were damaged, they were immediately submitted to receive repair assistance," he said.
Along with the rainfall that is expected to be high for the next few days, his party asked the Cianjur residents to increase vigilance and preparedness because disasters can occur at any time, especially with the extreme weather that is still hitting.
"We appeal to residents throughout the Cianjur area to read the signs that natural disasters will occur, especially those living on slopes and riverbanks, to immediately evacuate when heavy rain with an intensity of more than two dams, especially at night," he said.
