BATC 2026 results: Indonesia won big 5-0 against Myanmar
JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's badminton squad managed to secure a landslide victory 5-0 over Myanmar in the first match of Group D at the 2026 Badminton Asia Team Championship (BATC).
The first day of the BATC series at the Qingdao Conson Gymnasium took place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The Indonesian men's team had no trouble at all in the first match.
Indonesia's victory was opened by the men's singles Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo. He managed to stop his opponent Htut Hein in a two-game match 21-14 and 21-19.
The second point for Indonesia was then obtained by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting as the second men's singles. The Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist had no trouble stopping Nyan Shaine Lin with a landslide score of 21-5 and 21-11.
This is the second tournament that Ginting has played in this year's calendar. He previously played in the 2026 Indonesia Masters two weeks ago, but his journey ended in the second round.
Richie Duta Richardo who came down in the third match locked a more decisive victory against Lal Zuidika. The fight took place in two direct games with a striking final score, 21-5 and 21-2.
The other two points for Indonesia were obtained by the men's doubles Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.
Rian/Rahmat won the match against Hein Htut/Phone Htet Zaw with a score of 21-13 and 21-12, while Leo/Bagas silenced Phyo Thurain Kyaw/Lal Zuidika with a score of 21-4 and 21-17.
Indonesia will then face Malaysia on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The Garuda squad is expected to face a tough challenge from the representatives of the neighboring country.
