Immigration Delivers Fugitive Chinese Woman Deported from Bali

DENPASAR - The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and Correction handed over Chinese buronasal who were deported from Bali for fleeing legal proceedings in their home country.

"We emphasize that Indonesia is not a place for fugitives to escape," said Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman, Tuesday, February 3.

The joint team, consisting of four officers from the Directorate General of Immigration, the Bali Directorate General of Immigration Regional Office and the Denpasar Immigration Detention House (Rudenim), flew to China to escort the fugitive with the initials WY.

They are tasked with ensuring that the subject on the wanted list (DPO) gets into the hands of the Chinese Security Bureau authorities in Guangzhou without any additional escape routes.

Based on immigration transit data, WY landed again at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, after being denied entry by the Abu Dhabi Immigration Authority, United Arab Emirates, on December 2, 2025.

The 27-year-old man was detained and temporarily accommodated at the Denpasar Immigration Detention House (Rudenim) on December 24, 2025.

After coordinating intensively with authorities in China, WY was deported to Guangzhou with the special assistance of a joint team from Bali during the air journey to the country.

He explained that the legal action was an implementation of the principle of selective policy adopted by Indonesia.

"Indonesia only gives space for foreigners who are useful," he said.

He added that in accordance with Article 75 paragraph (3) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, his party has full authority to deport foreigners who try to avoid threats and the implementation of sentences in their home country.

Based on Chinese government data, it was identified that WY was a fugitive wanted for trespassing on other people's property and persecution in China.

Through solid synergy between the Directorate General of Immigration and the Chinese Government, Indonesia ensures that its territory is not a place of refuge for fugitives across the country, and continues to play an active role as a sovereign country responsible for maintaining regional and international security.
