Through a Circular Letter, ASN Kotim is Invited to Buy Bulog Rice

SAMPIT - The East Kotawaringin Regency Government (Kotim), Central Kalimantan, issued a circular urging all state civil servants (ASN) to buy rice produced by Perum Bulog to maintain the stability of food supply and prices in the region.

The Acting Regional Secretary of Kotim, Umar Kaderi, said the appeal was contained in Kotim Regent Circular Letter Number 500/035/SETDA.EK/1/2026 which was signed on January 20, 2026.

"The circular urges all ASN to buy rice from Bulog," said Umar in Sampit, Antara, Tuesday, February 3.

He explained that the policy was a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 06 of 2025 concerning the Procurement and Management of Domestic Rice / Rice and the Distribution of Government Rice Reserves. Through this policy, Perum Bulog Branch Kotim continues to be encouraged to increase the absorption of rice and rice from local farmers.

The Kotim Regency Government, continued Umar, supports the optimization of this absorption by mobilizing ASN to buy Bulog rice. This step is considered to strengthen national food security while supporting the welfare of local farmers.

"For this reason, we ask all heads of regional device organizations, including the head of the village, to mobilize ASN in their respective environments, both civil servants and PPPK, to buy and use Bulog rice, both at the branch office and through official partners," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Perum Bulog Branch Kotim Muhammad Azwar Fuad emphasized that the rice offered to ASN was commercial rice, not Public Service Obligation (PSO) rice or rice from farmers' absorption.

"The type of rice offered to ASN is commercial rice, so it is not related to the PSO rice stock currently in the warehouse," said Azwar.

He added that the policy was also an effort to promote Bulog's commercial rice which has premium quality and is able to compete with rice in the market, but is still sold at affordable prices.

"The price of commercial rice from Bulog is Rp. 15,400 per kilogram, so it is hoped that the stability of rice prices will be maintained," he said.
