Not Just a Visit, the Indonesian Army and Singapore Strengthen the Military Line

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Army has established cooperation with the Singapore Army to strengthen Indonesia's defense in the region.

The cooperation emerged when the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, Lieutenant General TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa, received a courtesy visit from the Chief of Staff of the Singapore Army (COS-GS) or Deputy Chief of Staff of the Singapore Army, Brigadier General Wong Shi Min, at the Indonesian Army Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday, February 2.

It is said that the two military leaders discussed a number of strategic agendas, ranging from educational cooperation, joint military exercises, to the development of soldier professionalism.

Saleh appreciated the military cooperation between the Indonesian Army and the Singapore Army which had been established for a long time. He hoped that the partnership would continue to be strengthened for the benefit and stability of both countries.

"This cooperation is expected to continue and provide benefits for the Indonesian Army and the Singapore Army," said Saleh in an official statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 3.

Meanwhile, Wong Shi Min expressed his appreciation for the welcome given by the ranks of the Indonesian Army. He emphasized the commitment of the Singapore Army to continue to strengthen bilateral relations with the Indonesian Army through various cooperation programs that have been running.

The meeting was part of efforts to strengthen military relations between the two countries amid regional security dynamics.
