Udinese Win 1 – 0 at Home to AS Roma
JAKARTA - AS Roma had to return empty-handed when they visited Udinese's headquarters in the 23rd week of the 2025/26 Italian League. Playing at the Bluenergy Stadium, Tuesday morning WIB, the Giallorossi lost with a narrow score of 0-1.
The only goal in this match, as reported by Antara, was scored by Jurgen Ekkelenkamp early in the second half.
Thanks to this result, Roma remained in fifth place in the standings with 43 points. Meanwhile, Udinese climbed to ninth place with 32 points, as reported by the official Serie A website.
Udinese appeared aggressive from the start of the match. In the first 10 minutes, the hosts had two attempts from inside the penalty box. However, all of these opportunities were still able to be secured well by Roma goalkeeper, Mile Svilar.
Roma only managed to score their first shot on target in the 28th minute. Donyell Malen tried his luck, but the striker's shot was anticipated by Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
The deadlock broke in the second half. Udinese managed to open the lead when the match was only four minutes after the restart.
Ekkelenkamp scored a goal through a free kick execution that Svilar could not stop.
Behind by one goal, Roma increased the intensity of the attack and dominated possession of the ball.
A number of attempts were released, but Udinese's defense meeting made many Roma opportunities end up blocked before heading to the goal.
Until the final whistle was blown, Roma failed to score an equalizer. This defeat also stopped Roma's winning streak in Serie A.
