Meno Airlangga Leads Rapim In Nusa Dua Bali, Discusses Economic Priority Programs

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto opened the second quarter leadership meeting (rapim) of 2021 of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Airlangga said that this time, the Rapim specifically discussed and evaluated various programs that were running in the second quarter.

"For me, this Rapim is a momentum for internal consolidation between deputies between fields to focus more on achieving the main goals, a number of government agendas and priority programs in the economic sector, as well as improving the performance of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy as a whole," said Airlangga via Instagram account airlanggahartarto_official, Monday. , May 31.

According to Coordinating Minister Airlangga, the Rapim this time discussed and evaluated various programs that were running in the second quarter.

Airlangga Leads Indonesian Presidency at G-20

Apart from the coordinating affairs of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Indonesia is believed to be the G-20 Presidency which will be held in 2022. For this reason, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appointed the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto to lead the G-20 Sherpa Track.

Later, Airlangga Hartarto will be tasked with leading discussions on non-financial economic issues, such as energy, development, tourism, digital economy, education, labor, agriculture, trade, investment, industry, health, anti-corruption, environment, and climate change.

In order to assist Airlangga's duties, President Jokowi also appointed Foreign Affairs and Deputy Foreign Ministers to coordinate several main tasks in the implementation of the upcoming G-20 Summit.

The appointment decision is contained in Presidential Decree Number 12 of 2021 concerning the National Committee for the Organizing of the Indonesian G-20 Presidency which was set on 27 May 2021.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga said Indonesia's leadership at next year's G-20 will raise a big theme, namely Recover Together, Recover Stronger. According to him, the theme shows Indonesia's hope and readiness to participate in global partnerships, as an effort to overcome the impact of the pandemic and re-increase global confidence.

"Indonesia emphasizes that for a stronger recovery, close cooperation is needed that is focused on boosting productivity, increasing economic stability and resilience, and ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth," he said as quoted from the official website, Monday, May 31.

Airlangga added that the COVID-19 pandemic situation added to the complexity of the challenges faced by this forum and brought expectations for Indonesia to lead strategic steps in solving global problems.

"For this reason, the cooperation of countries in the G-20 forum is very strategic to find solutions to the various challenges faced," he said.
