East Jakarta Police Reveal Narcotics and Inheritance Cases in the First Week of Operation Pekat Jaya 2026

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police has uncovered three cases of drug abuse and seized dozens of illegal alcoholic beverages (miras) in the implementation of the Jaya 2026 Public Health Operation (Pekat).

"During the 2026 Pekat Jaya Operation in East Jakarta during the first week, we have uncovered three drug cases and seized dozens of alcoholic beverages in the East Jakarta area," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief AKBP Achmad Akbar at a press conference at the East Jakarta Metro Police, Monday.

The disclosure was made during the first week of the operation as an effort to suppress the circulation of drugs and community diseases in the East Jakarta (Jaktim) area.

From the results of the drug case disclosure, the police secured four perpetrators who are currently undergoing the investigation process.

The three drug cases involved four perpetrators and all of them are in the investigation process.

In the disclosure, officers seized a number of evidence in the form of narcotics and dangerous drugs.

The evidence seized included synthetic tobacco weighing 0.8 grams, narcotics of the type of methamphetamine weighing 0.5 grams and various types of dangerous drugs with a total of 1,118 pieces.

Apart from revealing drug cases, the ranks of the Metro Jaktim Police also took action against the circulation of illegal liquor. The police took action against 10 points of selling liquor which were considered disturbing the community.

From the action, the police officers secured hundreds of packages of various types of liquor.

"The evidence seized includes 368 bottles of liquor, 68 plastic packages, and one jerigen suspected of containing illegal alcoholic beverages," he said.

Akbar emphasized that Operation Pekat Jaya 2026 would continue to be held intensively as a step to maintain the security situation and public order, especially ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.

According to Akbar, the circulation of illegal drugs and liquor is often a trigger for criminal acts in the community. This operation is an effort to create a safe and conducive kamtibmas situation.
