Ahead of Lebaran 2026, KAI ensures that LRT Jabodebek is ready to provide safe and reliable services

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period, which is projected to increase urban community mobility, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) together with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) ensure that all LRT Jabodebek services are in a state of operational readiness, safe, and reliable.

The certainty was obtained through a series of thorough examinations of stations and train lines that operate.

Manager of Public Relations of the Jabodebek LRT, Radhitya Mardika, conveyed that service readiness is a key factor in maintaining public trust in public transportation, especially during Lebaran which is synonymous with a spike in mobility.

"During the Lebaran period, the public's need for safe and reliable public transportation increases significantly. Through this thorough inspection, KAI ensures that all LRT Jabodebek systems and facilities are ready to serve the public's mobility in an orderly, comfortable, and sustainable manner," said Radhitya in an official statement, Monday, February 2.

Radhitya explained that the inspection was carried out from January 27 to 31, 2026 with coverage of all 18 LRT stations in Jabodebek and all operating train lines. This step is taken to ensure the readiness of services not only before, but also during and after the Lebaran Transportation period.

During the inspection, the joint team reviewed various crucial aspects, ranging from safety and system reliability, operational security, to comfort and ease of access for users. Attention was also directed to the readiness of priority service facilities so that they can function optimally during periods of high travel intensity.

"Special attention is given to facilities for the elderly, disabled people, pregnant women, and users with children, to ensure that all layers of society can travel safely and calmly while using the Jabodebek LRT," he explained.

Based on the results of the inspection, he continued, the LRT Jabodebek service in general has met the established service standards. All evaluation processes refer to the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards.

Through this step, KAI confirms its commitment to presenting the Jabodebek LRT as a reliable urban public transportation mode, not only for daily needs, but also in facing the challenge of high mobility during Lebaran Transportation, to support safer, more efficient, and integrated community movement.
