BGN Will Give Yellow Cards to SPPG that Cause MBG Poisoning

JAKARTA - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said that the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) which caused the poisoning case and violated the standard operating procedure (SOP) would be given a yellow card.

"I see that there are SPPGs that we will give a yellow light or a yellow card because they violate the procedures that are more severe. Then, we will evaluate and maybe it will be stopped for a while that the yellow card is given," he said at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central and Regional Governments in Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java, Monday, February 2 as reported by ANTARA.

Dadan apologized to all beneficiaries who experienced the MBG poisoning incident and continued to investigate the causes of food safety incidents in several areas that are still occurring.

"For those who we give a yellow card, it's because he takes raw materials from outside so that the way of cooking is not supervised, and we will give a fairly harsh warning regarding this. Then, for some SPPGs, we will now announce some menus that must be avoided," he said.

He reminded SPPG to continue to carry out quality control of raw materials used for MBG, and ensure the content of each ingredient is safe to consume.

"From the existing incidents, we are starting to evaluate the menu that must be given. So, some menus may have to be avoided so that the incident does not happen again. We will make a circulation so that the nutritious meal program can run more safely," he said.

Currently, he continued, BGN is also continuing to investigate and analyze several SPPG that have experienced poisoning incidents. Dadan also stated that President Prabowo Subianto ordered his party to continue to improve the quality and safety of the MBG Program.

"Mr. President said that BGN must continue to work carefully. The target is still being pursued, but quality and safety must be improved, that is the direction of Mr. President," said Dadan.

He also stated that currently the MBG Program has formed 22,275 SPPGs serving 60.7 million beneficiaries. BGN targets that in 2026, its accreditation certification team will be formed immediately so that all SPPGs have good qualifications.

"We will later grade and determine which SPPG is superior or A grade, then SPPG is very good or B grade, and SPPG is good or C grade, then maybe there are SPPGs that have to fight to be able to continue their activities," he said.
