Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Airlangga: US negotiations are over, wait for Prabowo-Trump schedule
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that Indonesia's negotiations with the United States had substantially been completed. The process is now in the finalization phase of legal documents.
"All the talks are actually over. It's just fine tuning in legal drafting," said Airlangga on the sidelines of the Central and Regional Government Meeting in Sentul, Bogor, Monday, February 2.
He added that the next stage was waiting for the schedule of President Prabowo Subianto's meeting with US President Donald Trump. However, the details of the results of the negotiations could not be opened.
"It cannot be conveyed because there is still a Non-Disclosure Agreement," he said.
Airlangga dismissed the assumption of the signing of the Board of Peace regarding tariff negotiations with the US.
"No," he said, referring to the global peace agenda that dominated the talks in Davos.
Regarding the capital market, Airlangga admitted that the JCI had weakened, but noted the inflow of foreign funds.
"Foreign net inflow means that there is confidence in the improvement," he said.
He assessed that the share issuance occurred in low-liquid emitters which were estimated to be affected by the rules for increasing the free float to 15 percent.
"Stocks that are fundamentally good also have increased," he said.
Airlangga also ensured that the selection of the OJK leadership would be processed immediately through a selection committee formed by the Minister of Finance. The selection is said to be open to the public.
