32 ETLE Cameras Watch Out for Traffic Violators in South Kalimantan Ahead of Eid

BANJARBARU - The South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate together with the Traffic Police of the ranks operated 32 Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) or electronic fines to crack down on traffic violations during the 2026 Intan Regional Police Operation.

"In addition to these 32, there are also six additional ETLE that will be immediately operationalized in Balangan," said South Kalimantan Police Traffic Director Kombes Fahri Siregar after leading the title of the Safety Operation troops in Banjarbaru, Antara, Monday, February 2.

Operation Intan 2026 Safety was held for 14 days, from February 2 to 15, 2026. In its implementation, the police prioritize preemptive and preventive steps through education to the community, while repressive actions are only carried out using ETLE.

Fahri explained that the Safety Operation is part of creating conditions to realize security, safety, order, and traffic flow, especially ahead of the Lebaran homecoming this year.

He admitted that he had surveyed the routes in 13 regencies and cities in South Kalimantan to ensure the readiness of road safety equipment for travelers.

In addition, the South Kalimantan Regional Police together with related agencies also held a ramp check on public transportation as an effort to monitor and control the readiness of the Lebaran transportation fleet.

For the safety of traffic, Fahri appealed to the public to implement the concept of "3 Siap Berkendara", namely being ready for the physical and mental condition, being ready for vehicles that are roadworthy including brakes, lights, and tires, and being ready for rules by completing vehicle documents and obeying traffic signs.
