Commission II of the DPR hopes that the Regional Head will submit a direct proposal to the President at the Rakornas of the Ministry of Home Affairs

Member of Commission II of the House of Representatives, Mohamad Toha, responded to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) which held the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central and Regional Governments in 2026 at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Sentul, West Java, today.

He hopes that the regional heads can submit proposals directly to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.

Toha assessed that President Prabowo's move to gather all regional heads in the Rakornas was very important for the course of the government.

According to him, the Rakornas forum provides an opportunity for regional heads to hear directly the President's directions regarding priority programs of the central government that must be implemented and supervised by the regional government.

"This Rakornas is very important for regional heads. They can hear the President's instructions directly, especially regarding the programs of President Prabowo Subianto and the central government that must be implemented in the region," Toha told reporters, Monday, February 2.

The member of the commission which deals with domestic governance and regional autonomy also emphasized that the support of local governments is the key to the success of national programs.

"Regional heads must support and monitor all of President Prabowo Subianto's programs so that they run optimally and the benefits are felt directly by the community," he said.

In addition to being a forum for delivering directions, Toha hopes that Rakornas will also be a two-way dialogue space between the central and regional governments. According to the PKB legislator, there are many problems in the regions that need to be conveyed directly to the President.

"We hope that regional heads can also convey suggestions and input to the President. Of course there are many problems and challenges faced by local governments, and it needs to be heard so that a common solution can be found," he concluded.

It was reported that the 2026 Central and Regional Government Rakornas was held by the Ministry of Home Affairs as an effort to strengthen policy synergy between the center and the regions. President Prabowo conveyed the direction and evaluation of government performance throughout 2025 as well as the implementation strategy of the program in 2026.

The forum was attended by around 4,487 participants consisting of heads of ministries and agencies, regional heads, DPRD leaders, and elements of Forkopimda from across Indonesia.
