Man who beat pregnant wife in Situbondo arrested by police
Satubondo - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Situbondo Police, East Java, arrested a man who stabbed his own wife who was pregnant because it was allegedly triggered by economic problems.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Situbondo Police, AKP Agung Hartawan, explained that the perpetrator, M Taufik (25), abused his wife, Suci (20), using a knife at his house in Langkap Village, Besuki District, on Sunday (1/2) early morning at around 1.30 WIB.
"The victim suffered serious injuries to his face, and was taken to Besuki Hospital after the incident, then the victim was referred to Dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital to receive medical treatment," said Agung as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 2.
Agung revealed that the suspect Taufik not only committed a beating against his wife, but he also persecuted other residents to steal motorcycles and destroy residents' houses after a while persecuting his own wife using sharp weapons.
In addition to securing the perpetrator Taufik, he continued, the police also secured his parents (the perpetrator's father) initials S (59) because they were also involved in helping to persecute other victims after receiving a false complaint from his son.
"So, this perpetrator told his father that he was having problems with others, and so his father went to the person in question and the two of them committed persecution and destruction," said Agung.
According to him, at present the two perpetrators, father and son, have been detained to undergo further legal proceedings related to the series of persecution against his wife, and the beating of other residents.
"A number of evidence in the form of a kitchen knife, machete, celurit, and one motorcycle have been secured," said AKP Agung.
Information collected by ANTARA, the perpetrator attacked his wife using a sharp weapon resulting in serious injuries to the face and arm, before finally fleeing when the family tried to help the victim.
The escape of the perpetrator continued with a series of other criminal acts, and the perpetrator Taufik had visited a grocery store and abused the store owner with the initials H (41).
Not stopping there, the perpetrator continued to move and again abused someone at the rental play station, initials UN (30) without a clear reason.
The situation developed into a suspected theft when the perpetrator forcibly took SY's motorcycle at a coffee shop.
Then the perpetrator went to his father's house and told a lie by complaining that he was having problems with someone named AY, so his father helped the perpetrator to accompany AY.
When he arrived at AY's house, it turned out that SY, as the owner of the motorcycle that had been taken by the perpetrator, tried to take back his vehicle, so that a scuffle occurred in which his father also beat the victim, while Taufik again injured the victim with a sharp weapon, and then Taufik was helped by his father to destroy the house belonging to the resident with the initials AY.
