IBM Launches New Software to Support AI Sovereignty
JAKARTA - IBM announced IBM Sovereign Core, a software designed to support the implementation of sovereign AI (AI-ready sovereign environment) in building, implementing, and managing information technology (IT) systems independently.
Designed for companies, government agencies, and service providers, this software is expected to help them develop the use of AI, while complying with increasingly complex regulations and data sovereignty.
"Companies need greater control over how sensitive data and AI workloads can be accessed and operated. This drives the increasing need for a secure and sovereign AI-ready ecosystem," said Catherine Lian, General Manager and Technology Leader, IBM ASEAN in a statement on Monday, February 2.
Through IBM Sovereign Core, Catherine added, many organizations can increase AI initiatives with confidence, while still balancing openness and agility with existing regulatory compliance.
"This change allows ASEAN to accelerate the adoption of trusted AI while maintaining greater economic value within the region," he added.
IBM Sovereign Core allows organizations to maintain full control over systems and data - from operations, identities, and encryption keys - while remaining within jurisdiction, supporting ongoing compliance, local AI management, and rapid and flexible implementation.
Customers can deploy IBM Sovereign Core, either in on-premises data centers, cloud infrastructure in supported regions, or through IT service providers.
