Interpol Issues Red Notice for Riza Chalid

JAKARTA - The National Central Bureau (NCB) of the Indonesian Interpol announced that Interpol had issued a red notice on behalf of Mohammad Riza Chalid or MRC on Friday, January 23, 2026.

"After the red notice was issued, we followed up on this effort by coordinating with our counterparts, both foreign and domestic counterparts, ministries and agencies," said Secretary of the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol, Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko in Jakarta, Sunday.

Untung emphasized that the NCB of the Indonesian Interpol fully supports law enforcement measures against perpetrators of criminal acts who flee abroad and become international fugitives.

"NCB Interpol supports law enforcement measures against perpetrators of criminal acts who have fled abroad in relation to their crimes in Indonesia, so that they become international fugitives," he said.

He said the NCB of the Indonesian Interpol had also coordinated with the Interpol Headquarters in Lyon, France, regarding the process of issuing a red notice against MRC.

"It is indeed a long road, but thank God this success is certainly the contribution of colleagues from the NCB Set as well as the support of the Interpol Headquarters in Lyon, France," he said.

Untung emphasized that the success of the issuance of the red notice was not merely the result of the work of the NCB of the Indonesian Interpol and the National Police, but was also the result of the hard work of various institutions in and outside the country.

"This success is not merely the success of the NCB Set of Interpol and the National Police, which are all supported by the cooperation of both ministries and international organizations that do have attention for law enforcement and the search for international fugitives," said Untung.

A red notice is a request to law enforcement around the world to find and arrest a person temporarily for the purpose of law enforcement.
