Drug Residivist Plants Hundreds of Marijuana Plants at Home

JAKARTA - The Rejang Lebong Police (Polres) Police arrested a marijuana grower in the yard of a house. The Public Relations Officer of the Rejang Lebong Police, AKP M Hasan Basri, when quoted by VOI, Sunday, said that the suspect in the cultivation of marijuana was MHK (48), a resident of Tunas Harapan Village, North Curup District.

The suspect was arrested by a joint team of the Narcotics Police and the Intelligence Unit of the Rejang Lebong Police on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at around 12.30 WIB.

"The disclosure of the case began with community information regarding the alleged circulation and cultivation of marijuana in one of the residents' houses in Tunas Harapan Village, North Curup District, Rejang Lebong Regency," said AKP M Hasan Basri.

He explained that the information received by the officers was immediately followed up by personnel from the Narcotics Unit together with personnel from the Intelkam Unit, and after that the officers immediately carried out a search at the suspect's house in the presence of the head of the local RT and RW.

"At the suspect's house, officers found hundreds of marijuana stems that were planted in polybags, plastic pots, cement pots, sacks, and other containers around the perpetrator's house," he explained.

The marijuana plants found by the officers, he said, were sown in various planting media, including in 14 polybags containing 33 small marijuana plants, in 20 sacks containing 42 small marijuana plants.

Then in 18 plastic pots containing 45 small marijuana sticks, as well as a number of other pots and containers totaling hundreds of marijuana sticks, both small and large. In addition, dry marijuana and marijuana seeds were also secured.

According to him, at this time the suspect and all the evidence have been secured at the Rejang Lebong Police to undergo intensive examination by the Narcotics Police.

From the results of the initial examination, the suspect is a repeat offender of a marijuana type narcotics case in 2014. At that time, MHK was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison by the Curup PN.

"The suspect admitted that all the marijuana plants belonged to him. The marijuana plants were planted to be consumed by themselves and part of the plan was to be sold," said AKP M Hasan Basri.
