Parents of Child Abuse Victims in NTB Admit that the Legal Process is Slow
JAKARTA - Fitri, the biological mother of a child with the initials ABM (8), a victim of alleged violence in Lakey, Hu'u District, Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, revealed that her son is still deeply traumatized and lives in fear since the incident occurred.
"My son is still very traumatized. As a mother, I am really depressed and hurt, especially since the perpetrator still often hangs around us," said Fitri, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday.
He said that this condition made the family feel unsafe and under prolonged psychological pressure. The incident also triggered the anger of the extended family from both sides who felt offended by the alleged abuse of the child.
"We have reported since January 17, but the process feels very slow. We just want justice and the perpetrators to be punished to the maximum for their actions," said Fitri.
In the midst of this condition, the Head of the Dompu Regency Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP3A), Mifathul Su'adah and the PPA UPTD, continue to accompany the victim and family during the legal process at the Dompu Police and psychological recovery assistance for the victim.
The head of the Dompu Regency DP3A, Miftahul Su'adah, said the victim not only experienced physical violence, but also verbal violence which had a serious impact on the child's psychological condition.
"Since the incident, the victim has been traumatized and no longer goes to school," he said.
As a follow-up, DP3A together with the UPTD PPA picked up the victim, parents, and two witnesses to provide information at the Dompu Police, while ensuring that the examination process was child-friendly.
"We will provide further psychological support, for trauma recovery and support the victims to return to school," he said.
