Menaker Yassierli Wants to Prepare BLK as a Productivity Clinic and Business Incubator

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli said the government is preparing a transformation of the Labor Training Center (BLK) so that training is more relevant to industry needs, easier to access, opens up job opportunities and entrepreneurship is wider.

"This transformation includes strengthening BLK as a productivity, talent and innovation hub (TIH), as well as a business incubator," said the Minister of Home Affairs Yassierli in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday.

According to Yassierli, the transformation of BLK is aimed at making the benefits of training more felt by the public where the skills learned are more relevant to the changing needs of the workforce, while expanding opportunities for people to work and work.

To implement this transformation, the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) will collaborate with academics so that human resources competencies are in line with current industry needs.

"We will invite the campus world to make BLK a productivity clinic to meet the needs of domestic and foreign industries. For example, by training in the field of green jobs, smart creative IT skills, and smart operation," said the Minister of Home Affairs.

He explained that synergy with academics would also be carried out to strengthen the transformation of the function of BLK as the implementation of TIH, a training center for people with disabilities, as well as a center for increasing the productivity of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Furthermore, Yassierli assessed that strengthening this function is necessary so that BLK is not only a training place, but also a space for increasing competence that is more inclusive and impactful.

In addition to training, the Ministry of Manpower has also prepared the role of BLK as a business incubator (entrepreneurship).

"Kemnaker is preparing a BLK as a business incubator. Those who want to start entrepreneurship will find out what their business ideas are, who their competitors are, their business model, their business development strategy, and their marketing," said Yassierli.

The Minister of Home Affairs said that so far BLK has faced a number of challenges that need to be improved so that the impact is greater for the community, including the number of beneficiaries, cost efficiency, training quality assurance system, curriculum novelty, recruitment transparency, and tracking of graduate or alumni data.

"The optimization of this BLK aims to increase the capacity and quality of BLK which is currently considered to need to be improved to be more efficient in responding to the challenge of unemployment," said Yassierli.
