Pertamina Trans Kontinental Brings 1 Million Barrels of Crude Oil from Algeria

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) has made the first shipment of 1 million barrels of crude oil from Block 405A Algeria to Indonesia. The loading and unloading series was carried out at the loading area and jetty of RU IV Cilacap Refinery, Central Java, as the entry point for strategic supplies for national refinery operations and strengthening domestic energy security. The President Director of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental, I Ketut Laba said, after a sea voyage of more than a month since departure from Algeria, the tanker carrying cargo arrived in Cilacap waters and underwent loading and unloading with the support of marine support services.

"In this operation, PTK deployed supporting fleets, including the Transko Pipit and Transko Kepodang ships, to help maneuver, secure the sea area, and the smooth process of anchoring the ship. The fleet's support is an important part of the ship-to-shore interface service so that the loading and unloading process takes place safely, accurately, and according to HSSE standards," he said, Saturday, January 31.

He added that the success of this cross-continental energy distribution confirms that the smooth supply does not only depend on production and main carriers, but also on the readiness of marine services at critical mooring points.

The readiness of the jetty facilities, pilotage-towing-anchoring services, perimeter security of the waters, and integrated operational coordination are key links in ensuring that crude oil is transferred from the sea to the refinery system without interruption. This reliability strengthens the reliability of the entire marine-to-refinery energy supply chain. "The success of the loading and unloading of strategic imported crude oil cargo shows the readiness of marine and port operation support services of PTK in supporting large-scale and high-risk energy operations. We ensure that every stage of energy transfer in the maritime area is in compliance with HSSE, supported by the readiness of personnel, fleet, and integrated safety systems," he said. In terms of business, this operational capability strengthens PTK's value-added services for clients and prospective clients in the energy and maritime sectors through the assurance of reliability, efficiency of loading time, and operational risk control.

Nationally, PTK's contribution to the smooth distribution of this first crude oil has a direct impact on the continuity of energy production at refineries and the stability of supply for the community. PTK continues to assert its position as a key pillar of marine logistics and offshore support services in ensuring energy reaches the country safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
